I am super excited to announce that I will be taking the photos for the Rifle Animal Shelter’s fundraising calendar! The shelter is located in Rifle, Colorado. The calendar theme this year will be “Dog Town” – basically a town where everything is run by dogs.
Our first shoot next week is with the lovely police officers over at New Castle Police Department, where we are photographing one of the rescue pups from the shelter on a ride-along. We have a number of gorgeous businesses lined up, offering their premises for the shoot, and I am so excited to get shooting!
Each month will have a shelter dog (either past or present) doing a human thing – getting their hair done, checking the engine of a vehicle as a mechanic, and more!
However, to make the calendar a reality, Rifle Animal Shelter needs sponsors. They need to raise $1200 to get the first 100 calendars printed. The shelter is asking any businesses who want to be part of this or to help out to contact them for more info on firstname.lastname@example.org or call (970) 625-8808.
All proceeds from the calendars go to the shelter, which, as many of you know, is trying to raise money for a new shelter building.
If you have been to the shelter, they are currently using shacks, trailers and whatever they can get their hands on to look after the animals they have in their care. It is a far cry from the beautiful premises of the shelters in Glenwood Springs and up-valley. Add to this that the adoption fees are the lowest in the area, currently just $14 because of sponsorship from Wags and Menace Make a Difference Program. So, if you are looking for a new fury family member, please go and visit and lend a helping hand if you can to make this fundraiser a reality.
